A good night's sleep may reduce the appearance of saggy jowls

Getting a full eight hours of sleep each night is an important part of maintaining mental and physical health.It's thought to re-charge the brain and allow the body to rest and heal. "During hours of sleep, cortisol and insulin production inversely peak so that collagen production is accelerated," said Beverly Hills dermatologist Harold Lancer, quoted by the news source.


This means that skipping out on sleep may lead to less firming collagen in the skin. Additionally, the article reported that inadequate rest can cause the skin to lose its natural moisture, which can exaggerate wrinkles.


The Daily Glow reports that the skin does much of its damage repair at night, working to ward off the signs of aging.
