Mother Nature's gifts to aging skin and sagging jowls include antioxidant-rich plants, pure water and nourishing vitamins, minerals and emollients. A recent study that was conducted at the Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine in Germany discovered that a certain type of pine bark extract may be added to the list of skin-enhancing natural resources.

The study found that a supplement containing the extract increased the skin's elasticity by 25 percent and enhanced moisture levels by 8 percent. Moreover, women who reported dry skin at the beginning of the trial said they had a 21 percent improvement on their complexion's moisture.

"This exciting and technically advanced investigation with women representing actual consumer profiles greatly supports our efforts for targeting the skin beauty category for both dietary supplements and functional foods," says Victor Ferrari, CEO of Horphag Research.

Women who are concerned about loose neck skin and the overall effects of aging should be sure to consume a full range of nutrients in order to obtain a younger looking appearance.

Certain foods and drinks may exacerbate aging skin

You may already know that drinking plenty of water and eating ample amounts of fruits and vegetables may help keep skin healthy and youthful-looking. However, did you know that certain foods and beverages can actually dry out skin and make sagging jowls look worse?

The number one thing you should avoid if you want to obtain firm neck skin is alcohol. Forget about claims that red wine can reverse the signs of aging, as the alcohol it contains has a more immediate, damaging effect.

Alcohol literally dries you out, which can intensify the appearance of aging skin.

Additionally, foods that are salty can leach moisture from the skin and body, leaving you with a sallow complexion and loose neck skin. Sugar has also been known to have a detrimental effect on the skin, as well as the body overall.

As a result, it's probably a good idea for your skin - as well as your waistline - to steer clear of alcoholic beverages, products with added sugar and salty snacks, as these often contain empty calories.

Tinted moisturizer may work best on aging skin

If you're using heavy foundation and powder, you may find that it actually accentuates the signs of aging - namely, fine lines, wrinkles and loose neck skin. This is because the heavy amounts of pigment found in the makeup has a tendency to settle into creases.

As a result, it may be time to lighten up your skin care routine. No, don't go a shade below your natural tone, but instead choose a makeup that is less heavy than your normal foundation.

Today, a number of cosmetic companies offer tinted moisturizers, which can be used in lieu of foundation. These provide coverage of minor flaws in the complexion but are more sheer than traditional makeup.

If you find that you still see unwanted age spots or blemishes with a tinted moisturizer, try using a concealer before applying the product. This will hide certain spots without forming a mask over the whole face.

Areas of the skin - such as sagging jowls or dry foreheads - may still be in need of hydration, even with a tinted moisturizer. So, remember to continue using the best neck cream and apply lotion wherever it's needed for a smooth, healthy complexion.

What's so great about antioxidants, anyway?

You've likely been inundated with commercials touting the benefits of antioxidant-rich juices, fruits and other foods over the past couple of years, but just what is the deal with these free radical-busters?

Well, antioxidants - which come in many forms and under many names - are known to eliminate harmful molecules in the body called free radicals, which get there by way of air pollution, cigarette smoke and general contamination.

As such, antioxidants help reduce the signs of aging, which include sagging jowls, marionette lines and forehead creases.

Moreover, they're not just available in fruity juices and produce, but can also be found in skin care products. The topical application of antioxidants may be just as effective as ingesting the healthy vitamins and nutrients, as the skin is known to absorb substances easily.

So, rather than resorting to risky neck lift surgery or chemical-laden lotions and potions, ladies who are concerned about loose neck skin may instead want to try the best neck cream with antioxidants and other healthy, natural ingredients.
